Hey Reader,
New year, new resolutions, right? While most people are talking about fitness or financial goals, mine is a little more...vain? My goal is to style my hair more. Silly? Maybe. But I’ve been a lot more social lately, and I’ve realized that taking the time to style my hair makes me feel good in my own skin.
So, when someone in my neighborhood text thread mentioned the Dyson Airwrap, my ears perked up. (For the uninitiated, it’s this fancy hair tool that people swear by.) Naturally, I Googled it. And wow—starting at $599?! My jaw hit the floor.
At first, I felt a twinge of judgment. “Who spends $600 on a hair tool?” I thought. But then it hit me—how hypocritical of me! I’m the same person who unapologetically splurges on fancy cheese and gourmet dinners because those things matter to me.
And that’s the thing about money: it’s so personal. Some people value silky, blowout-worthy hair. Others value truffle oil and $18 local farmer's market cheese (hi, that’s me). The key isn’t to avoid spending altogether—it’s to save on the things that don’t matter to you so you can spend freely on the things that do.
For now, I’m holding off on the Dyson Airwrap. But who knows? If this hair-styling resolution really sticks, I might start saving up for one. In the meantime, I’ll stick with my trusty curling iron that I got from Target for $20 (and keep practicing those Pinterest tutorials).
